One of the most popular discount programs designed to save money on San Diego attractions is the Go San Diego Card. The Go San Diego Card is certainly valuable for San Diego tourists but it also can benefit residents who would like to sightsee with visiting friends and family or simply explore our city a bit more.
We’ll go over the card options (all-inclusive, the 4 choice flex pass and build your own), how to use it and benefits that extend beyond the savings. And, I have access to an exclusive 10% discount on all-inclusive passes that expires on March 31, 2018.
1. Save Up to 55% on San Diego Attractions
The main reason to buy a Go San Diego Card is for discounted admission. And, based on my research, typical savings range from 20 – 55% depending on the type of card chosen.
It is difficult to achieve this level of discount without this card especially for those who are avid sightseers or have long San Diego vacations planned.
To get a better idea, check these real-life examples of how people saved using the Go San Diego card.
2. All Major Attractions Participate
Yes, we have pandas at the San Diego Zoo!
Everything that I would classify as a major San Diego attraction can be visited using the Go San Diego Card (the full list is below) including the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, LEGOLAND California, Belmont Park, and the most kid-friendly museums in Balboa Park.
3. Go San Diego Card Saves Time
With the Go San Diego Card, you do not have to wait in a ticketing line each time you visit an attraction. The way it works is that once you redeem your voucher for a paper Go San Diego Card, this card serves as your ticket to every attraction permitted by your pass.
This can save significant time at busy places like the USS Midway Museum, LEGOLAND and more. And, now there’s an app designed that will let you skip the card redemption step (keep reading).
4. Three Go San Diego Card Pass Options
An All-Inclusive Pass
This pass option allows users to visit all of the available 40+ San Diego attractions at a reduced cost. The benefit to the all-inclusive pass is that you can make last-minute decisions about which attractions to visit. This is handy if Balboa Park and downtown San Diego are on your to-do list as many attractions are near each other.
The all-inclusive pass is available in 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 day increments, but needs to be used on consecutive calendar days. Daily admission to SeaWorld® San Diego is included on all 3, 5, or 7 day passes.
San Diego 4 Choice Flex Pass
This pass allows users to select from pre-built packages of 4 attractions. It’s good for 30 days after the first attraction is visited and users can save up to 35%.
Choose Your Own Attractions Pass – Good for Residents
The Build Your Own Pass is another great option for people who know exactly where they’re going. It can include as few as two of the 37 available San Diego attractions.
This is not a bad idea for residents who are not annual members to certain attractions as this pass is also valid for 30 days after the first attraction is visited.
The Build Your Own Pass can include a few Orange County and Los Angeles attractions like Knott’s Berry Farm,
5. It’s an Easy Gift
Have family and/or friends coming to San Diego over the holidays? Skip the mall and opt for a Go San Diego Card. Passes can be delivered to the recipient via email.
There are 13 other cities that offer Go City Cards, too. Prices start as low as $20.
6. Instant Digital Delivery
It’s possible to buy the Go San Diego Card online and immediately print a pass to use. Or, you can store your pass on the new Go City Card app for Android and Apple. Having the app negates the worry of losing your paper Go San Diego Card so I’d highly recommend a download.
7. The App Skips the Initial Pass Redemption Line
If you print out a Go San Diego Card voucher, you’ll need to take it to a ticket line to collect your actual paper pass. The app enables you to skip this step and go directly to turnstiles where they will scan a QR code on your app (available at select attractions).
8. The App Gives Directions, Hours and More
After the app registers your purchase of a Go San Diego Card, users will have access to directions, hours, tips for visiting and much more handy information all in one spot.
9. Risk-Free Guarantee
If you buy a Go San Diego Card and wind up not using it, you have one year from your purchase date to return any non-activated or unused passes for a full refund.
10. The All-California Pass
If San Diego isn’t your only West Coast stop, the All-California Pass might be a big money saver. It works similarly to the Build Your Own Pass and allows users to add on major California attractions up and down the coast. This is a fantastic idea for those embarking on road trips.
EXCLUSIVE 10% Discount (Through March 31, 2018)
I have access to an exclusive 10% discount on all-inclusive Go City Cards in every city, including San Diego, from now through March 31, 2018. You will need to book through this dedicated link.

Good to Know
Most San Diego attractions do not charge admission for children under the age of 3. Children ages 3–12 enjoy a reduced Go San Diego Card price.
In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day, however, some are limited to once per pass. You will receive a guidebook that outlines these details.
The card is not valid on a 24-hour basis. Meaning, if you visit an attraction at noon on Monday, the remainder of day 1 lasts until attractions close on Monday. Tuesday counts as day two.
The most popular card is the 5-day card and most users visit 2-3 attractions per day. I will say that if you are exploring the museums at Balboa Park… you could easily hit 5.
